NEW CD To Be Released April 5, 2008 - March 16, 2008

"Island Soul", the newest CD release from Rick Strickland, will be avalable on April 5, 2008 at J.B. Pivots CD Release Party, Savannah Hwy., Charleston, SC.

Cammy Award for 2007 Solo Album of the Year - November 21, 2007

Rick Strickland adds to his 2005 Cammy Award for Songwriter of the Year the 2007 Cammy Award for Solo Album of the Year 2007. This award was received for his solo album "Something Smooth" which include 12 songs written, produced, arranged, engineered, and mixed by Rick Strickland. Many of his songs are currently charting which include: Something Smooth, One Step Closer, Party 'Til The Break of Dawn, I Miss You, The Devil Made Me Do It, and Counting the Days. In addition, he continues to get airplay for She Cain't Fix Grits which debuted in 1991. The song along with Something Smooth has been classified as bonafide Beach Music Classic. He has three songs in the Surf 94.9 Hall of Fame which include: Something Smooth, Party 'Til The Break of Dawn, and One Step Closer. What this means is they have been in the top ten so many times that they are now retired from competition in the 94.9 charts.
